Meet Ishara: your guide to positive parenting

As a Certified Parenting Coach and Educator, I'm here to support you in raising confident, resilient, and happy children. Learn about my journey, philosophy, and how I can help your family thrive.

My journey to parenting coaching

My journey into parenting coaching began with my own experiences as a parent and my background as a teacher. I saw how many children struggle not because they are “difficult,” but because they are not always understood.

With my studies in psychology and counselling, I became more interested in how children think, feel, and develop emotionally. I realised that small changes in how we respond to children can make a big difference in their confidence, behaviour, and overall wellbeing.

Becoming a Certified Parenting Coach in Australia helped me bring together both knowledge and real-life experience. Today, I’m passionate about supporting parents, especially Sri Lankan families, with practical, gentle, and effective strategies that truly work in everyday life.

My gentle approach to parenting

My approach is gentle, practical, and focused on understanding the child behind the behaviour. I help parents use simple, realistic strategies they can apply in everyday life.

My core philosophy is that children thrive when they feel safe, understood, and connected. I guide parents to use calm communication, clear boundaries, and emotional support to raise confident, resilient children.

Who I work with and what I help with

I enjoy working with parents who want to better understand their children and build a calm, connected home environment. Many of the families I support are looking for practical ways to handle challenges like tantrums, big emotions, behaviour issues, and improving communication.

I mainly support parents of young children and early school-age kids, helping them guide behaviour with confidence while strengthening the parent-child relationship.
